Our Teen Athletes Treatment program is designed for teens that are involved in athletics, and seeking to begin or maintain a training regimen, while at Paradigm. To make sure that our treatment addresses every part of a teen’s life, we provide a special team of experienced coaches, trainers, nutritionists, and health experts that work together to help support young athletes. Additionally, Paradigm has an advisory board of accomplished athletes and champions to help guide the young athletes in our programs.
Overall, being an athlete should be a positive, uplifting, healthy aspect of a teen’s life. However, when teens are struggling with Mental Illness or Substance Abuse issues, even sports can become a challenge, and/or not hold the enjoyment or positivity they once held. To make sure our teen treatment encompasses the different challenges and experiences of being an athlete, some of our special features of this program include:
At Paradigm, we work with teens holistically, and also, teach them to see themselves holistically. In other words, we want to help them to make the connections between all the different parts of their lives. Sports provide teens with extraordinary opportunities to grow, to be challenged, to learn teamwork and competition, not to mention discipline and commitment. However, when teens are struggling with a Mental Illness or Substance Abuse, the effects reach into their sport as well.
Our Teen Athletes Treatment Program is designed to provide specialized treatment to athletes that helps them evaluate how their current challenge affects and/or is connected with their athletic performance. Then, while we provide treatment in Talk Therapy, addressing the mental and physiological aspects of their addiction or illness, we also provide physical training and support their athletic goals and commitments. We believe that with the right support and treatment environment, teens aren’t just able to remain athletes, but they can become better athletes, because of their treatment.
