Shannel Kassis holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology with a Trauma Specialization and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Behavioral/Clinical applications. Presently, she is enrolled in the Doctor of Clinical Psychology Program (Psy.D.) at California Lutheran University where she is conducting research on the cognitive benefits of exercise on the ever-developing brain.
Before joining the Paradigm Malibu team, Shannel worked as a therapist at a counseling center focusing her services on at-risk youth, teen trauma survivors, anxious teens, and teenagers struggling to find their identity within their home and world. She utilizes a holistic, strengths-based, relational approach with the understanding that personal connection is imperative to creating positive change. Shannel is passionate about providing adolescents with tools to increase their sense of self-worth and to better manage challenging emotions.
