Matthew Porter is an experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who received his Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and Drama Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. He has over a decade of providing individual, group, and family therapy to teens and their families. Matthew’s professional experience includes clinical supervision of developing therapist and teaching Child Psychology courses at Berkeley City College.
His clinical approach blends aspects of Drama Therapy, DBT/Mindfulness Therapy, EMDR, Trauma Therapy, and Addiction Therapy into teen and family therapy. Matthew is enthusiastic about guiding youth and families toward healing and recover from trauma, depression, and/or addiction. He believes that each adolescent has the capacity to develop meaningful and joyful relationships with themselves and others and he finds common ground with youth through music, film, and his love of yoga and travel.
