Katherine holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychoneuroimmunology and Dance from Sarah Lawrence College, and she completed her Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification in 2009 at Santa Monica Yoga. She has also worked as a prison yoga and meditation teacher in Los Angeles and surrounding areas since 2015. Katherine also hosts a day-long intensive and workshop Yoga for Burnout in Los Angeles.
Katherine specializes in groups with diverse student populations, having taught in prisons, jails, treatment facilities, corporations and high-end yoga studios. In her career spanning over a decade, Katherine has worked with children, teens and young adults, and feels a particular kinship to her Paradigm clients working with Dot and Gizmo, the trained yoga goats. She finds that the animals immediately animate and excite even the most withdrawn person, offering unbiased friendship and pure love. In her goat yoga lessons at Paradigm, Katherine sets an easygoing pace in which students are invited to voice their insights, questions and feelings.
She believes that a regular yoga practice is an opportunity to look deeper into the relationship we have with the balance of effort and relaxation. It is a microcosm of the bigger picture. When she isn’t teaching yoga, Katherine enjoys cooking, watercolors, piano, tide pool exploring and hiking.
