Cecilia Muniz | Paradigm Malibu

Cecilia Muniz graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a Bachelor’s degree and from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Master’s degree in Social Welfare. She has spent over 20 years specializing in working with adolescents and their families. Cecilia has advanced training in trauma-focus and cognitive behavior therapy. Prior to coming to Paradigm, Cecilia served as Director of a large treatment facility for youth struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma and other mental health issues. Cecilia has received multiple honors for her work with adolescents including the Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition, 32nd District Member of Congress Hilda Solis, Marjorie Hays Fertig and Ralph D. Fertig Fellowship for Social Justice from the University of California Los Angeles. In addition to providing leadership at Paradigm, Cecilia is a faculty member at Mount Saint Mary’s Graduate Psychology Department and sits on the board of directors for a non-profit organization which addresses issues related to young women. She also lectures and conducts workshops on effective practices in working with adolescents and their families with issues ranging from negative coping styles (such as teen self harm and adolescent addiction) to including culturally responsive approaches in treatment protocol.
