New Medical Director Joins Paradigm Malibu

Dr. Chelsea Neumann has been named Paradigm’s new Medical Director.

A graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, Dr. Chelsea completed her general psychiatry residency training at Duke University, and her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship training at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University.

“We are delighted to have Dr. Chelsea join our team,” says co-founder and CEO of Paradigm Cole Rucker.

“As a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist, Dr. Chelsea will unquestionably maintain Paradigm’s commitment to providing the highest possible quality of care for the teens and families that we serve.”

“We anticipate that given both her experience and her dynamic approach, that she will elevate all that we do,” said Cole.

Dr. Chelsea’s Experience and Education

During her tenure at Brown University, Dr. Chelsea gained specialized experience in working with adolescents diagnosed with PTSD, substance use disorders, anxiety, OCD, autism spectrum disorder, depression, psychosis and bipolar disorder.

In addition, she is trained in family, cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic and dialectical behavioral therapy. Throughout the course of her career, Dr. Chelsea has provided psychiatric care across the globe, including Jamaica and Ecuador during medical school, and most recently she worked in Eldoret, Kenya, and Auckland, New Zealand.

In her new role as medical director, Dr. Chelsea will provide clinical leadership, psychiatric assessments, medication management, and psychotherapeutic interventions for adolescents in Paradigm’s residential treatment program.

“The adolescent years are some of the most difficult and important years of our lives,” says Dr. Chelsea Neumann.  “It is a time of growth and development that requires a lot of support from families and peer groups.”

For this reason, Dr. Chelsea wants to help teens grow in their relationships, develop healthy goals, and find meaning in their lives.

“Helping families navigate these external pressures while helping family members build trust and improve communication is what makes this work so rewarding,” she adds.

“We all work together at Paradigm to use our individual expertise to contribute to a team-based approach, and I think this is what makes Paradigm special,” says Dr. Chelsea.

Paradigm Malibu is an adolescent mental health and drug treatment center dedicated to identifying, understanding and properly treating the core issues that impact teens and their families.
